Din Matamoro’s (Lives and works in Vigo, Spain, 1958) work is rooted in informalism, combining dreamlike references with abstract forms to create a personal and poetic visual language. His compositions often feature whimsical graphic elements, impossible objects, and harmonized stains set within idealized spaces. There is a strong sense of material presence in his paintings, informed by the influence of Minimal Art and a focus on dense, almost tactile surfaces. Through this approach, he explores themes of memory, perception, and the boundary between the real and the imagined. Working primarily in painting and printmaking, he continues to develop a body of work that invites quiet reflection and challenges conventional notions of space and form.
