DIALOGUE

50 x 70 cm.
Diogo Bolota (Portugal, 1988) lives and works between São Paulo and Lisbon. He studied Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, earned a degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, and completed an MA in Drawing at Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London. Exhibiting regularly since 2014, his practice moves between drawing, installation, and architecture.
At Drawing Room, a selection of drawings from the new series initiated in São Paulo, within the exhibition Nítido Obscuro (Objecto Particular), will be presented. “It all began with a need to see into the distance. If, at this moment, I find myself in a large metropolis where I cannot see the horizon, I had to leave São Paulo several times to find that fleeting line stretching horizontally, accompanying our visual reach.” Bolota explores perception as a process of constant correction, subject to shifts, interferences, and adjustments that inevitably shape the way we see.
