The work of Filipe Romão (Portugal, 1981) consists of a body of work born from a process that calls forth the dialogue between matter and support, whose act of making is sustained both by a personal intensity and by the intensity of the world, a rhythm that creates a poetic image which evokes and exalts silence, melancholy, stillness, light and shadow, the ephemeral and the enduring – the Sublime as a category of aesthetic inquiry.
