José Loureiro (b.1961) is a nationally and internationally recognised artist. With the intention of celebrating his work, in this edition of Drawing Room, Fonseca Macedo – Arte Contemporânea is presenting a solo show by this artist with new works — Sinapse-morta (2023) and Sinapse em ponta de diamante (2024) — which highlight the use of space and the way elements and colour relate to each other. In February this year, he exhibited CROQUE COULEUR at the FRAC Grand Large in Dunkirk, France, curated by director Keren Detton, an exhibition of an anthological nature, in which he presented two new projects: Uma Família como as Outras (2023) and Narcisos (2023). For this edition of Drawing Room, the artist is showing these new works for the first time, making this solo show an unprecedented moment entirely composed of never-before-seen works. José Loureiro is represented in renowned collections in Portugal and abroad.
