The body of work here presented by Luís Brilhante is displayed in a discontinuous way — the drawings and paintings subsist through their visual and individual narrative. The theme, if this word can be used, is displayed in different shapes, such as rectangles and squares and embraces a huge chromatic range, through the motion/calligraphies and also by a continuous series of accidents that sometimes are shown, sometimes are covered by so many other colors and events.
Education in Painting by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto and Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He develops activities as a visual artist and teacher of Basic and Secondary Education in the areas and multimedia arts.
Luís Brilhante divides his activity as a visual artist between Lisbon and Ponta Delgada.He has exhibited individually since 2000 and regularly at Galeria Monumental since 2006, being part of the artists presented by the Gallery in Several editions of the Lisbon Art Fair and in the collective exhibition at the Galeria Apteka Sztuki, Warsaw, in 2019.He has been represented in several international art fairs: ARCO Madrid; Contemporary Art Fair, Toronto; Art Brussels; Artissima, Italy; Artfair Miami Beach; Artfair, Cologne, etc.
The artist is represented in several private collections, in Portugal and abroad, and in public and institutional collections, such as the PLMJ Foundation, Carmona e Costa Foundation, Caloura Cultural Centre, Ponta Delgada City Council and Presidency of te Regional Government of the Azores.
