Rudi Brito (Portugal, 1988) is a contemporary Portuguese artist working across painting, sound, and performance. He studied Fine Arts at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha and later lived in Glasgow, where he developed his interest in sound and collaborative practices. In recent years, Brito has increasingly focused on painting, creating works that combine layers of imagery, optical effects, and fragments of lived experience.
Brito is represented by Galeria Filomena Soares in Lisbon, where the duo show On Top Of The Knee (2025, with Lúcia Prancha) was presented. He has also exhibited at Galería Ángeles Baños (Badajoz, La Mafia de Las Flores, 2025), and with Balcony Gallery at ARCO Madrid (2024). Other recent projects include Pulso de Seda (with Ana Manso, Buraco, Lisbon, 2024) and participation in group exhibitions such as Blind Taste (Arbag, Lisbon, 2024).
Alongside his studio practice, Brito engages in curatorial work, co-founding the collective Purga and organizing exhibitions of emerging artists, playing an active role in Lisbon’s contemporary art scene.
