DIALOGUE

Vera Midões (Portugal, 1980) work is an immersion in a playful, surreal, and contradictory universe. It begins with the capture of fleeting moments of life—sounds, images, and sensations from everyday experience—to construct a visual language that oscillates between the real and the imaginary, the visible and the hidden.
At Drawing Room, a series of Indian ink drawings will be presented, which serve as the foundation for her entire practice. In these works, automatic gesture and the spontaneity of line intensify the dreamlike character of her imagery.
Influenced by surrealism, her practice reveals gestures close to automatism and deconstruction, creating hybrid relations between the human, the animal, and the fantastic. Each work seeks to capture the transience of existence—a game without fixed rules, where art and life merge in a continuous field of transformation.
