Drawing Room Lisboa concludes its 8th edition with over 6,500 visitors in 4 days celebrating contemporary drawing

Drawing Room Lisboa concluded its 8th edition after four days of programming dedicated to contemporary drawing at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes, registering over 6,500 visitors.

The contemporary art fair dedicated to drawing took place from October 23rd to 26th and consolidated its role as one of the main platforms dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of contemporary drawing in Portugal, bringing together artists, galleries, curators, collectors and the public around a program that celebrated diversity and artistic experimentation.

The 2025 edition stood out for its increase in awards and acquisitions, demonstrating the vitality of the market and the growing recognition of the represented artists. The Millennium bcp Foundation awarded three distinctions: the Outstanding Artistic Project Award to João Vasco Paiva, represented by Galeria Lehnmann; the Emerging Talent Acquisition Award to Sebastião Casanova, represented by Galeria Pedro Oliveira; and the Gallery Curatorial Project Award to Balcony Gallery.
The Imprensa Nacional Award, this year awarded to two artists: José Loureiro, an artist represented by Galeria Fonseca Macedo, and Cecília Costa, represented by Belo Galsterer. In this edition, Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda’s commitment was reinforced with the creation of a new Editorial Award granted to Tiago Baptista (3+1 Arte Contemporânea).
The Viarco New Talent Award was granted to Filipe Romão, represented by Braçoperna44, while the Ângelo & Damião Collection Acquisition Award distinguished Nicoleta Sandulescu, from Galeria Arte Periférica. The Mouseion – Art Law House Awards, dedicated to the youngest artists present at the fair, were granteed to Diogo Nogueira (Galeria Presença), Maria Durão (Kubik Gallery), Ana Romãozinho (Galeria 111), Ana Malta (This Is Not a White Cube), and Sebastião Casanova (Galeria Pedro Oliveira).
Pedro Vaz was the winner of the FLAD Drawing Award 2025, worth 20,000 euros, an initiative of the Luso-American Foundation for Development in partnership with Drawing Room Lisboa.

Drawing Room Lisboa returns from October 22nd to 25th 2026, once again at Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, promising to continue establishing itself as an essential meeting space for artists, professionals, and lovers of contemporary drawing.
