After two successful editions in Lisbon, Drawing Room Lisboa adapts its edition this year to a face-to-face version where works from Portuguese galleries and artists will be presented and commercialized, and an online version where international galleries join, thus contributing to the reactivation of the contemporary art of drawing market and fostering new business opportunities. Following all the rules of the DGS, the art fair will take place from October 14 to 18, at the National Society of Fine Arts.
The highlight of this year will be on contemporary Portuguese drawing, with national galleries and artists in the physical space of the fair, as well as some Spanish galleries due to the presence of the counterpart Drawing Room Madrid. The International Galleries will have space in drawingroom.store an online complement, where contemporary art collectors will be able to explore the selection of works that each participating gallery has prepared for this digital project. Parallel programming will also take place mostly in digital and live format.
Drawing Room 2020 will also give space and voice to artists without a gallery, in a curatorship invited by the Fair, in a collective exhibition also available for sale, contributing to the cultural and commercial recognition of the creative work of a generation of artists. The usual editorial space will also remain with a digital version for the launch of editions and multiples.
Committed to promoting drawing and artists, the Drawing Room is a pioneer platform in the valorization and commercialization of drawing. Collectors, professionals and art lovers are invited to discover the contemporary artistic panorama, including a new generation of artists who have appropriated drawing as a privileged medium and who find undeniable devotion to the drawing of the great masters.
