Thanks to the collaboration of the IEB, Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics, “Fanboy”, the site-specific intervention of Albert Pinya (Mallorca, 1985) for Drawing Room Lisboa, can be seen in P2 space of the Lisbon Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, dedicated to monographic projects of new artists, from October 9 to 13, 2019.
The selection has been made from an open call and has considered the quality and innovation of Pinya’s work that explores drawing issues reflecting the overabundance of graphic information in today’s popular culture, as well as its adaptation to the objectives of the Drawing Room fair Lisbon, whose vocation is to show the diverse practice of contemporary drawing.
The jury has been formed by Bruno Leitão, curator and director of Hangar, Center for Artistic Research in Lisbon; Manuel Navacerrada, collector and member of the Advisory Committee of Drawing Room Lisboa and Mónica Álvarez Careaga, curator and director of the fair.
