New Acquisition Prize from the Ilídio Pinho Foundation
The Ilídio Pinho Foundation’s work is a heartfelt tribute to the late son of its Founder, Ilídio Pedro. Its mission is clear: “To contribute to ensuring that the development of Science and Technology is a factor in human development and an instrument for economic growth, cultural promotion, and solidarity between generations and peoples.”
The Foundation has played an important role in areas such as education, science, and culture: in this regard, its intervention in the context of contemporary Portuguese art is developed by financially supporting projects and actions that contribute both to the artistic development of artists and to their national and international visibility. Thus, the Foundation not only strengthens its collection but effectively contributes to a more robust contemporary creative context. In this area, the support granted to the publication of books by authors, artistic residencies abroad, and the production of new works stand out, having been vital for many of the beneficiaries.
The Ilídio Pinho Foundation Acquisition Prize is an initiative developed jointly by the Ilídio Pinho Foundation and the Drawing Room Lisboa fair with the aim of recognizing and supporting the quality and dynamism of national artistic practice, particularly in the field of contemporary drawing.
This recognition is realized through the acquisition of drawings by national artists exhibited at the Drawing Room Lisboa event, which will take place between October 22nd and 25th, 2026. The Ilídio Pinho Foundation Acquisition Prize is worth €10,000.
