Ana Mata (Portugal, 1980), lives and works in Lisbon and Proença-a-Nova. She has a PhD in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon (and also a BA and MA from the same institution) and has been teaching Painting as a guest lecturer since 2010.
She has been exhibiting regularly since 2002, having held 7 solo exhibitions at Módulo – Centro Difusor de Arte and group exhibitions, including, in 2010, the exhibition Res Pública, 1910 and 2010 face a face. Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; Artist’s Books by Women Artists. Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, 2021; I don’t know if I can wish you a Happy New Year. Works from the Mário Teixeira da Silva collection, National Museum of Contemporary Art – Museu do Chiado, 2022.
Her work is included in collections such as the Portuguese State Contemporary Art Collection, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Lisbon City Council Contemporary Art Acquisitions Fund, the Mário Teixeira da Silva Collection, the Manuel de Brito Collection, the António Cachola Collection, the Carmona e Costa Foundation, among others.
