Carlos Alexandre Rodrigues (Lisboa, 1979), lives and works between Caldas da Rainha and Lisboa.
Master in Fine Arts by ESAD.CR (PT) and graduated in Visual Arts by University of Évora (PT).
Works essentially in an artistic practice in which various operative methodologies act on different types of media, such as painting, drawing, photography and three-dimensional objects – converging on different themes and disciplinary “elds, such as geography, architecture, urbanism, archeology , anthropology or sociology, not with the intention of treating them as such matters, but calling their subjects to his plastic arts project. He focuses on found images and objects, in a process of artistic appropriation of inventory and cataloging techniques, in a gesture that is simultaneously archival and aesthetic.
Represented in the following collections: Carmona e Costa Foundation, Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection, Escola Superior de Arte e Design de Caldas da Rainha, Casa das Artes de Tavira, Universidade de Évora, Colégio das Artes, Polo dos Leões.
