CARLOS ALEXANDRE RODRIGUES

GALERIA DAS SALGADEIRAS

Carlos Alexandre Rodrigues works essentially in an artistic practice in which various operative methodologies act on different types of media, such as painting, drawing, photography and three-dimensional objects – converging on different themes and disciplinary fields, such as geography, architecture, urbanism, archeology , anthropology or sociology, not with the intention of treating them as matters, but invoking their subjects to his artistic project. It focuses on found images and objects, in a process of artistic appropriation of inventory and cataloging techniques, in a gesture that is simultaneously archival and aesthetic. These images serve as a catalyst or matrix for creating new images or objects.
