CARMEN MARIA MUIANGA

In 1989 she finished the basic course of the School of Visual Arts. Between 1992 and 1997, she completed her artistic training at the National School of Plastic Arts, Havana, Cuba. She currently teaches at the National School of Visual Arts in Maputo. Both in Mozambique and abroad, she has taught courses and workshops in Colagrafia (technique in which she is pioneer in her country). She participated in the 4th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints (1999) and represented Mozambique in Expo’98 (Lisbon). She is a member of Núcleo de Arte, MUVART and Kulungwana Association. In 1999 she was distinguished with the 1st Prize (Engraving) at the TDM’99 Biennial; Honorable Mention in MUSART’99;b2nd Prize (Painting) in the contest/exhibition “Reconstruction”.
From her 25 years of career, mainly dedicated to Engraving, Painting and Drawing, can be enhanced her most recent solo exhibition, “Murmúrios do Baú d´Arte”, at Kulungwana Gallery (Maputo).
