Cristina Lamas was born in 1968, in Lisbon, where she lives and works. She studied Visual Arts at Ar.Co, where she later completed her advanced studies in Drawing. She exhibits regularly since 1999. She was a grant holder from Oriente Foundation, in 1999 and in 2003, and from Luso-American Foundation, in 2001. Her work is represented in several collections, namely: Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection, Lisbon; PT Foundation, Lisbon; Carmona e Costa Foundation, Lisbon; PLMJ Foundation, Lisbon; Manuel de Brito Collection, Lisbon; among others.
Her work is settled in a recurrence of the technique of pattern, rhythm and geometrization of forms, establishing a permanent dialogue between the field of everyday forms and the space of abstraction, through the use of materials such as crayons, gouaches and chinese ink on paper.
