Heron P Nogueira’s work, currently focused on painting, proposes the construction of an individual graphic vocabulary, in which repeating elements interact between themselves: a lexicon built to explore the possibilities of different chromatic and surface quality combinations. Following a logic that also is present in his paintings, this series of drawings is in itself a form of return to the line-based thinking. Having started his artistic practice in etching, drawing and alternative printing, Heron now reclaims this familiar draughtsman field with thoughts that now were being developed in his painting: surface, texture, contrast. Made with graphite, beeswax and sanguine, these drawings are like an extension of a thought process, a moment-polygraph: uninterrupted writing.
