ARTE PERIFÉRICA – GALERIA DE ARTE

Hong Wai was born in Shanghai (1982), grew up in Macao and since 2005 lives and works in Paris.
The artist transports Chinese ink into contemporary art and, from a female perspective, draws fine and elegant lines in a technique that for centuries was only meant for the male universe. Hong Wai uses the Chinese brush as if it was a silk thread and, like a skilful lace maker, weaves lace patterns one after the other.
