Irene González

GALERÍA SILVESTRE

Malaga, Spain, 1986. She lives and works in Madrid.
Irene González attended the University of Granada, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has a master in “Dibujo: Creación, Producción y Difusión” from the University of Granada. The artist creates her work by managing an archive of images and a game of cuttings, combinations and suggestions that emerge from their couplings.
The sum of fragments conceives a visual archive where memory, in its iconoclastic corrosion, responds in turn to the fragmentation of the subject.
The absent and the fragmentary, the empty and the hidden, the spectral, the light, the melancholic and the repetition are recurring themes in her works, where the abstraction of the everyday and the banal is manifest.
