Isabel Madureira Andrade studied Painting at the Fine Arts Faculty, University of Lisbon. She is Master of Arts Thesis, Lisbon, 2018, University of Lisbon.
Her first exhibition at the Fonseca Macedo Gallery took place in January 2019, “Cosmografias, a História e Outras Cores” – group show – curated by Luísa Cardoso.
Isabel Madureira Andrade begins with the transposition of objects – ready made – using the “frottage” technique, showing their geometrical structure, many times organized as a repetitive pattern. It creates a visual rhythm, which resembles a representation of the cosmos.
Isabel Madureira Andrade was shortlisted for the EDP New Artists Prize, 2019, and was distinguished by the International Jury with an Honorable Mention.
In January 2020, Isabel Madureira Andrade was invited to exhibit at the Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva Museum, in Lisbon, “Epigramas”.
