Presented by ROSALUX – THE BERLIN-BASED ART OFFICE

The works on paper now presented at Drawing Room in the form of an Atlas display, are all part of an ongoing specific project, newspaper paintings ‘ preliminary drawings, that blurs all categorizations, either between drawing and painting, but also photography, by means of an appropriation framed by a specific textual background or a “landscape” of atomized scripted language. This is precisely a reflection on how artists working with photography today – but also drawing, respond to those issues that are specific to photographic processes, even if through other medium, from the stages of execution and production to those of reception and consumption.
The viewer is thus invited not to just analyze on the interpretation bias but to ponder on the contract that is always subsumed by each and every work, as well as on the relations between them, shaping the actual experience of the artwork.
