Jorge Molder was born in Lisbon 1947.

The artist studied Philosophy. He lives and works in Lisbon.

Since 1977, year when he had his first solo exhibition, he realized numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group shows in galleries, art centres and museums in Portugal and abroad.

He was guest-artist at the 22nd São Paulo Biennial (1994) and represented Portugal at the 48th Venice Biennial (1999).

He is quoted in many books, magazines, journals and papers.

During his career, he has given many interviews.

His works have been published in many books, magazines and papers, existing a large bibliography about his work.

He was awarded with important art awards, e.g. AICA/Portugal Prize in 2006/07, the EDP Grand Art Prize in 2010, and the SPA Award (Prize of the Portuguese Society of Authors) in 2014.
