MARIA NÖEL

Argentina, 1965

AINA NOWACK

Born in Buenos Aires in 1965 Maria Noël studied Fine Arts at the Escuela Nacional Prilidiano Pueyrredón and philosophy as well as art history at the University of Buenos Aires.
A tireless traveler, she toured Eastern and Western countries. She lived from 1989 to 1990 in the Italian cities of Naples and Milan and in 1990 she learned papermaking techniques and vegetable dyes in the city of Cairo.
It is worth noting the eloquence in the use of materials and their textures that refer us to an archaic craftsmanship typical of the cultures of northern Argentina dedicated to pottery and weaving.
Her works are part of numerous private collections in Argentina, New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Zürich, Geneva, Saudi Arabia, Bogotá, Punta del Este and Chile.
