Teresa Moro (Spain, 1970). These are silent works – gouaches and watercolours on paper – which undoubtedly reveal mystery. Miguel Fernández-Cid said that Teresa’s works give us a sensation similar to those of Luc Tuymans, apparently diluted, “possessing something hermetic and dense inside”, and I think that is certainly where she is heading. After all, her work seeks and exercises precisely that, the subtle lack of definition that we call “enigma”.
In Drawing Room Lisboa 2024 we present drawings and gouaches from her latest series, “Work Clothes”. Teresa Moro’s attraction to clothing surfaced at some point while she was searching the domestic or work environments of artists, looking for objects for “The Relic Effect”. The project with which she tried to explain the emotion she feels when she thinks she is in front of something that could have belonged to or been used by a creator she admires.
