MARTINEZ & AVEZUELA´S GALLERY

Vicky Uslé lives and works between New York and Cantabria. Bachelor of Fine Arts in Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, R.I. 2003), her work connects with the pictorial tradition that insists on the poetic potential of abstraction. In her works on paper, dynamism, freedom, fluidity and lightness predominate, combining techniques, formal languages and color. In this new series called Pontocho, we find images constructed using pastel strokes combined with the modular (or architectural) shapes resulting from collage. Landscapes always subjective, open and unknown, in which she dominates the peace and balance of a remembrance, which this time directs us to the Japanese city of Kamo and its surroundings.
