Irene González
Irene González’s work is mostly based on drawings, in which time and memory always play a key role. Her creative process starts with collecting all sorts of found images that are later on altered to create a collage composed by the different parts. Therefore, her work conveys a certain strangeness with images in which the self and the other meet, meanings shift, time stops. Her aim is to create compositions or settings that generate powerful and silent poetic images that balance on the edge of recognition and strangeness. We can find this in the artist’s latest works, where light and architecture take special relevance as elements that invite the viewer to experience the image in a unique way, being suspended in time.
