Cristina Lamas (Portugal, 1968), lives and works in Lisbon. Her studies in Fine Arts were completed at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, Lisbon, where she followed the complete study plan in drawing and the advanced course. She has maintained a regular artistic practice with a focus on drawing, her work reflects on the global fabrication of images conveyed by global societies, appropriating images that allow us to travel through time, as in musical sampling.
Research on the residues of colonialism, time and memory, climate crisis and plants are recurrent in her work. Recent exhibitions include Pororoca at Fundação Carmona e Costa, Mistifório (collective) at Culturgest, or Extinção at Brotéria.
