Fernando Marques de Oliveira (1947, Porto. Portugal) is considered as one of the leading agents in renewing Portuguese arts during the 1980s. His work is characterized by the pursuit of a simplified, almost minimalist space, and by a debugging and a balance of balance expressed in a audacious chromatism and in a singular texture. In the same way as an architectural design, each of his works is completely planned and combines rigor with geometric sophistication. He attended the Harbor School of Fine Arts and the Watermael Academy – Boitsfort in Brussels where he lived.
