João Jacinto (Portugal, 1966) began his artistic studies in 1985 at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon since 1999.
His work is distinguished by its exploration of materiality, gesture, and memory. Moving between abstraction and figuration, he constructs images through layers, erasures, and overlapping elements, creating an intense, sensitive, and profoundly contemporary pictorial language.
