PRESENÇA

The work of artist Pedro Gomes (1972) has been created in the wake of the Drawing discipline, understood as an expanded field of representation and mapping of reality. Considering that in the last decades of the 20th century, Drawing became autonomous as an artistic discipline and largely lost its sketch or experimental character, Gomes’ work has proven to be very relevant in these premises. If, on the one hand, the design of architectural structures, buildings or interior spaces, implies a free and unimplied design where three-dimensional space is quickly presented, on the other hand the sophisticated techniques that the artist investigates makes the presentation of an accumulation of museum spaces. Both positions are contradictory and complicate the way of seeing and perceiving the artist’s drawings, which become screens with multiple possibilities and different points of view.
