He lives and works in Lugo. Vicente Blanco attended the University of Vigo, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sculpture. He has a PhD in Fine Arts (UGR) and Humanities (USC).
He develops his artistic research in different media, such as drawing, sculpture and installation.
In Vicente Blanco’s work, drawing plays a fundamental role because it allows him to synthesize the image of the real by graphic means. He considers it a tool of thought that he uses to establish an imaginary link between archaic, primitive or rural life, linked to nature and the conservation of traditional knowledge, and the more radically contemporary sphere.
The artist explores the search for a new language that allows us to name new and plural realities, not so much for the analysis of novel dystopias but rather for the possible recreation of a collective imaginary.
